7 Must-Eat Snacks At Disneyland
Every year my husband and I have made it a tradition to visit Disneyland at least twice a year – once during the Halloween season for our annual pumpkin picture and another during the holidays. Disneyland holds a special place in my heart and over the years, I’ve never grown tired of it. While Disneyland is often known for its beloved characters, Disney magic atmosphere, and a memorable experience for visitors of all ages, their food offerings are an essential part of that Disney magic.
Having been an annual Disney passholder for 8 years and having worked there for 6 years, I’ve tried pretty much all that Disneyland has to offer! For me, a day in the park at Disneyland is not complete without enjoying the food, especially the snacks. Disneyland not only has snacks that are uniquely Disney themed, but they are delicious, and I look forward to it each time I visit. Disneyland is often associated with higher prices which often extend to their food offerings. That’s why I am here to share with you my recommendations for food items that are worth the splurge. Here are a list of my personal favorites at Disneyland including classic, newer, and seasonal food items.
Garlic cheesy pretzel bread – Starting off strong with the newest food found at Maurice’s treat and Edelweiss Snacks is the garlic cheesy pretzel bread. I’m honestly drooooooling just thinking about it. I’ve seen a lot of hype on social media about this, and let me tell you, IT IS 100 % WORTH THE HYPE. With its soft buttery pretzel bread, robust garlic flavor, and warm gooey cheese, it is easily my newest favorite snack at the park.

Mickey pretzel with cheese – Mickey shaped pretzels are a classic treat at Disneyland and available at pretzel carts throughout the park (Small World Promenade, near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and near Star Tours). I know a few people that really enjoy the cream cheese-filled pretzel, but my personal favorite is their regular Mickey Mouse pretzel with the cheese for dipping. It may just be because I prefer a savory pretzel versus sweet. If you tend to enjoy sweet pretzels (ex. cinnamon sugar at Auntie Anne’s or Wetzel Pretzels), then you may enjoy the cream-cheese filled pretzel. However, if you’re like me and prefer a simple or savory pretzel then the cheese dip is the way to go!
Alien macaron – The alien shaped macaron found at Pizza Plant has a blackberry & lemon curd filling that is the perfect mixture of tart and sweet. The fact I am even listing it on here surprises me because I am very picky when it comes to pastries filled with cream or jelly. Often times, I do not like anything cream or jelly filled, but there have been exceptions. One is the malasadas from Hawaii, and two are these blackberry & lemon filled macaroons. I’ve tried other macarons in the park, but this one always comes out on top. I find they are more lemon tasting than blackberry, so if you don’t like lemon pie or lemon flavoring keep that in mind..
Beignets – Head to the Mint Julep bar for some warm & powdery beignets. My favorite would have to be either the plain beignet or the pumpkin spice beignet. They didn’t have the pumpkin spice one available this year (2023), but their plain beignets are still just as delicious if you are looking for a sweet treat. Order this for mobile pick up to avoid the long line and make sure you grab a couple napkins because this treat could get messy!
Cookie Butter Churro Sundae – If you are a fan of cookie butter, then you will LOVE their cookie butter churro sundae found at the Golden Horseshoe. Cookie butter is a spread made from Belgian speculoos cookies. If you haven’t tried cookie butter or Biscoff cookies, think smooth peanut butter, but a sweeter cinnamon flavor. This sundae has cookie dough ice cream with cookie butter sauce, cinnamon sugar dusted churros for some crunch, and whipped cream topping drizzled with more cookie butter sauce. The cookie butter sauce is so decadent, I thought the ice cream was cookie butter itself. One sundae was enough for both my husband and I to share, but I don’t blame you if you don’t want to share this one.
Caramel apple – My husbands favorite sweet treat at DIsneyland is their caramel candy apples. Their beautiful and various designs are what sets these candy apples apart from everywhere else. You can even watch them decorate the apples through the window. Disneyland uses a granny smith apple dipped in caramel and anything else that coincides with the design. The Mickey & Minnie apples are the ones my husband always gets since they have the marshmallow ears and dipped in caramel and milk chocolate. If you prefer your regular caramel dipped apple with or without peanuts, they have those options available too! Find candy apples available on Main Street at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen or Pooh’s corner.
Dole whip – Lastly, we have the iconic Dole Whip found at the Tiki Juice Bar. With its perfectly creamy soft serve texture and pineapple flavor, this makes for the best treat on a hot day. This dessert is so simple, yet so refreshing. I’ve tried store versions and even tried making my own following the recipe provided by Disney, but I’ve never gotten that same soft texture or taste.
Disney snacks play an essential role in providing you with that Disney experience. Whether you prefer something sweet, savory, or unique, Disneyland has the snack to satisfy your craving and enhance your day in the park. I’m curious to know, what’s your must eat snack at Disneyland?!
