The Most Luxurious All-Inclusive Resort in Cabo San Lucas

Summer 2022, Jeff and I spent a few days at the most luxurious all-inclusive resort, Grand Velas Los Cabos. Cabo is just a 2-hour flight from LAX, so we figured it was the perfect place for a quick getaway to celebrate my 28th birthday. Little did I know that this place would end up being the place I got engaged! Everything from the breathtaking oceanfront views, exceptional customer service, gourmet cuisine, and perfectly executed proposal really made for an unforgettable and high-quality luxury experience.

Immediately upon arriving, we were offered a couple glasses of champagne and asked to relax at the seating area facing the ocean as we wait for the room. It wasn’t long until we were introduced to our personal 24-hour concierge Daniel who showed us to our room.

Rooms & Suites

At Grand Velas, you can’t go wrong with any of their rooms. There are a total of 307 suites, which all provide you with anocean view. Jeff and I ended up staying in the Grand Class Corner Suite, which to date is still the best suite I have ever stayed in. Once we arrived to the room, there was a welcome bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for us. It really is the small details that add to that luxurious experience.

Daniel provided us with a room tour and provided us with his contact info through WhatsApp so we could text or call for anything we needed. Daniel was exceptional and we’re so grateful for him! He often checked in, had a quick response time, and really went above and beyond, especially when it came to the proposal.

The first thing I noticed with the room was how spacious it was. With the size being 1949 sq ft., this room was bigger than our apartment! My favorite thing about this room was the panoramic ocean view. We spent a lot of our time relaxing on the terrace taking in the most beautiful views. In addition to its spacious size and ocean view, some of my other favorite amenities included with this suite were:

• Luxury bathroom with jacuzzi and shower

• Large terrace with a plunge pool

• 24-hour personalized concierge services

• 24 hour in-suite service

• Nightly turn down service

• Goose-down pillows and duvet

• Bottle of mezcal, white wine, & red wine, plus endless amount of snacks

If you have the means to, I highly recommend the Grand Class Corner Suite to anyone who wants the luxurious experience. While the Grand Class Corner Suite is the more expensive option compared to their other rooms, I still found it to be a great deal because the resort is all-inclusive. There are very few other luxury resorts that can provide you with the same amenities Grand Velas provides while remaining high quality.

Things to do

Besides spending time in the room there are plenty activities to do throughout the resort. Currently they have the following activities available at no additional cost such as Paint & Wine, Mexican cooking class, Yoga, & Mixology class. We stayed on the resort our entire trip, but there are also off-site activities available for an additional cost, which your concierge can help book.

Spa

If you are looking to get some relaxation time in, I highly recommend visiting their spa. It truly was an unforgettable experience and unlike any spa I’ve been to before. Their spa packages all begin with a seven-step water ceremony which “treats the body and indulges the sense with alternating temperatures, varying pressure, aromatherapy, and visual stimuli”.  The water ceremony includes the following:

Sauna

Steam with chromotherapy

Ice room

Sensory shower

Polar pool and jacuzzi

Thermal lounges

Sensation pool with various circuits: cascades, bubble bed, multisensory jets, bubble geyser, and warm pool

A concierge walked us through each part of the water ceremony so there’s no need to worry about where to go or needing to keep track of time. Plenty of time is provided with each step to allow full relaxation. Once the water ceremony was completed, we went to our couples massage which really helped us to unwind. If you are looking for the ultimate relaxation experience, be sure to book one of their spa services.

Dining

I don’t know about you, but when I think of an all-inclusive resort, I don’t often associate it with a fine dining experience or high-quality food. However, Grand Velas Los Cabos far exceeds expectations for dining at an all-inclusive resort.  There are 7 gourmet restaurants with varied cuisines from French, Italian, Or Mexican. Here were our favorites!

Frida – Of course we had to have authentic Mexican food for our first night in Cabo! Dinner here got us so excited to try the rest of the food and drinks offered at the resort. Frida is only open for dinner and be sure to plan ahead if you want to eat here because reservations are required.

Azul – For most of our breakfasts during the trip, we headed to Azul for their buffet. This is a casual dining experience open for breakfast and lunch. They have your classic breakfast foods such as pancakes, eggs, cereals, and yogurt. They also had a grill station as well for omelets and an ala carte menu in case you are looking for something more specific.

Cocina De Autor – All restaurants at Grand Velas were amazing; however, my personal favorite was Cocina de Autor. This hadan 8-10 course tasting menu carefully curated by two Michelin Star Head Chef Sidney Schutte. I will never forget the tuna buble that they brought out during the cocktail portion, so light, crispy and delicious. We went here for dinner on our last night at the resort, and it was the perfect way to end our trip.

Lucca – If you are looking for Italian and Mediterranean cuisine paired with a large wine selection, look no further than Lucca. This is another restaurant that is open for dinner and with reservations only. I love Italian food and wine, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food here! I got the “Risotto Rapa Rossa, Gamberoni”, which was so rich, creamy, and delicious. I paired this with one of their white wines and finished off with tiramisu for dessert.

Besides their restaurants, we also enjoyed the room service for breakfast, poolside nachos & tacos (YOU MUST GET THE NACHOS), and cocktails throughout the resort. No matter where you eat whether for a snack or meal, I promise you will not be disappointed with the options and service available.

Overall thoughts

Who wouldn’t I recommend the resort to? I probably wouldn’t recommend Grand Velas for anyone looking for more of a party/spring break party vibe. There are more relaxing things to do here versus group activities and entertainment. Plus, this resort is further from the downtown area where many of the activities are.

Grand Velas is for those looking for an escape and for those that have an appreciation to detail and experience. It is at a higher cost, probably the most expensive resort I’ve stayed at to date, but it is certainly worth the money. The resort never felt crowded, the service was the best I’ve ever received at any resort, and the food, amenities, and suite are all reasons as to why I dream about revisiting this resort again.
